Woo hoo, Plastics arrive, I can start the build
Monday, July 28 2014 @ 07:30 PM BST
The plastics arrive, a nice shade of red. However they dont match the standard set of Prusa I2 plastics
so ive got to do a bit of investigation to do to find the relevant instructions.
These are what I ordered from Ebay:
The parts ive bought dont quite match the set from the Reprap Mendel Prusa I2 as per the website:
It includes a number of later improved parts such as the wades improved extruder, Z axis stabilizer and minor changes to the other parts.
So I contacted the seller and he sent me some links to the build instructions for the printer and extruder.
They are based on the Makerfarm V2 Linear Prusa Kit and the Gregs Hinged Accessible Extruder.
I couldnt resist grabbing a few parts and putting them together.
So I had a quick look at the x-axis rods and ends.
I reemed out the 8mm holes for the smooth rods and fitted the toothed belt idler with the improve idler bearing sleave.
It has a convex profile where the belt sits between the guides. Its supposed to help with centering the belt.
An here it is.
Now I have the correct build instructions Ill start on the main body of the 3d printer in the next few days.
More to come........
